Storage Industry Unveiled Green Efficiency Ratings

The Storage Networking Industry Association (SNIA) has revealed uniform storage product power competence ratings at its SNIA Europe event. The Esmeralda Power competence measurement specifications were developed under the Green Storage Initiative (GSI) for more than 25 SNIA member companies to give a seller-neutral power competence measure. Energy Storage Sees Growth in US Cleantech Investment

After a major drop earlier this year, United States investment clean technology companies is increasing in the third quarter. As per the survey by Ernst & Young which is released recently, United States venture capital investment in cleantech firms totaled U.S. $ 1.1 billion in Q3 2011, up 4 % from Q2 2011. This is matched up with the similar quarter last year; the $ 1.1 billion represents a 73 % increase in dollars invested in the number of contracts increased by 36 percent to 76.

GreenBytes, Pivot3 releases VDI storage systems

GreenBytes and Pivot3 recently extended their iSCSI SAN tag lines by systems optimized in support of VDI storage. The Pivot3 rolled out its vStac VDI machine, which the seller claims can handle as numerous as 115 virtual desktops for each box. GreenBytes opened its HA-3000 iSCSI SAN machine by means of inline deduplication. The appliance is planned primarily even though not exclusivelyas storage for a virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI).

Red Hat Announced to Acquire Gluster

Red Hat, Inc. has just made an announcement that it has signed an authoritative agreement to buy Gluster, Inc., a chief provider of scale-out, open source storage solutions for regulating the managing of unstructured data.
