Isilon announced today that Archive Systems has done the deployment of Isilon scale-out storage to power its on-demand document management solutions based on services. With Isilon, Archive Systems has consolidated all of its data based on files and applications onto a single file system, which eases data management for its software as a service (SaaS) business to extend IT efficiency and reduce costs. With the help of Isilon, Archive Systems can simply scale the capacity, performance and applications according to customer demands, which gives maximum level of suppleness in responding to the needs of its business.
“Our customers depend on us to keep their documents and electronic records safe, secure and available, anytime, anywhere,” claimed Christopher Williams, Director of IT, Archive Systems. “So we’ve got to be prepared to respond to demand at a moment’s notice. With Isilon, we can do exactly that, as it’s enabled us to simplify data management and easily consolidate applications, so we’re more agile and better equipped to meet our clients’ needs.”
Archive Systems pioneered the first services-based and on-demand document management solution with ASPEN software, so that it can enable enterprises to automate, reorganize and optimize the flow of data based on documents. Before employing Isilon scale-out storage, Archive Systems’ conventional SAN was not able to pace up with the requirements of its growing base of customers, requiring system management and data migration that slowed the productiveness and increased the costs.
By employing Isilon's X-Series, featuring its OneFS operating system, Archive Systems has made a single file system for all its data, getting rid of the time-intensive logical unit number (LUN) management of its prior SAN to shed light upon its IT infrastructure. Through Isilon's exclusive, on-demand scaling of performance and capacity, Archive Systems can scale its storage in line with its business expansion, enabling the company to only purchase the storage that is needed, while maintaining the ability to scale its system cost-effectively as requirements change. Using Isilon's NL-Series, Archive Systems has placed a second, off-site cluster for disaster recovery, making sure its business, as well that of its clients continues in an uninterrupted fashion.
“Document management is core to business continuity, as retaining critical information protects organizations against risk and lost opportunities,” announced Sam Grocott, vice chairman of selling, Isilon. “Archive Systems is a pioneer in eliminating risk in record keeping and is continuing to set the standard today by using Isilon to simplify its IT infrastructure and improve efficiency.”
