British Gypsum deploys Acronis Disaster Recovery Solution

British Gypsum, a part of Saint-Gobain Group and a global leader in construction has opted for Acronis backup software in order to implement a disaster recovery solution for protecting the servers that control the production at five of its manufacturing factories in the United Kingdom. The makers of plaster products, British Gypsum, will be implementing the disaster recovery solution from Acronis across 50 of its servers and 90 clients that are involved in the process of controlling the production with a view to protect them. The deployment has been done at 3 of its plants and the implementation work is in progress at the other 2 plants.

Every hour when the systems are down significantly costs the production and can be disruptive to the business is what the IT infrastructure manager, Kevin Erne who was vital in the deployment of disaster recovery solution said. He also added that after doing a thorough market research about disaster recovery solutions, the company has chosen Acronis Backup and Recovery 10 solution for its requirements. Acronis will be providing quick and reliable backup and recovery for the production servers at British Gypsum. He also said that the deployment of the product, Acronis backup and recovery 10, which has been successful across fifty percent of the systems, has proved to be a complete and compact disaster recovery solution so far.

The Accounts Director at Acronis for Northern Europe, Kevin Moreau, said that the company is delighted to add yet another company like British Gypsum to its client list. He added that he sees Acronis’ products being used extensively in the manufacturing industries especially for protecting the control and production systems.
