Netezza provides data warehouse appliance to MicroStrategy for testing

A global leader in business intelligence solutions, MicroStrategy, and Netezza Corporation, a leading data warehouse, monitoring appliances and analytics provider, made an announcement about delivering a high-performance Netezza data warehouse software to MicroStrategy. MicroStrategy will be conducting tests on this appliance of Netezza on a high volume and scale under the high performance initiative that was launched earlier in the year.

TwinFin data warehouse and analytics solution has been provided by Netezza to MicroStrategy’s high performance and scalability lab. The appliance has around 100 terabytes of data capacity. The performance engineering team at MicroStrategy will be using Netezza’s appliance to run numerous large scale tests on it during the research in order to identify and solve problems related to performance.

The high performance initiative at MicroStrategy includes the foundation of its lab, the forming of a dedicated engineering team and specific efforts for R&D with an objective to provide customers with high performing BI applications. With this approach, MicroStrategy plans on delivering 10 times faster BI applications.

The combination of Netezza and MicroStrategy will enable customers in performing advanced analytics on huge data volumes with the maximum level of performance. On an approximate, one third Netezza clients implement MicroStrategy’s BI solutions in order to fulfill their requirements.

Director of strategic and technology partnerships at Netezza, Matt Rollender, said that the company is happy to provide MicroStrategy with its TwinFin data warehouse software, which is designed for real-time data analysis. The technologies at Netezza and MicroStrategy give enterprises the power to analyze the ever expanding data and distribute the transformed intelligent information to different users.

COO at MicroStrategy, Sanju Bhansal was of the opinion that the strong technology and business relationship between the two companies is focused to provide enterprises with high scalability and maximum level of performance at lower ownership costs. He also added that the TwinFin appliance is a noteworthy addition to MicroStrategy’s high performance and scalability lab.
