WiredTree (www.wiredtree.com), managed web hosting provider announced that it has implemented a series of new network upgrading to its business city Chicago data center. This upgrade comes few days ago after WiredTree was named #254 on the Inc. 500 list. WiredTree says the new network hardware is complemented by the increased connectivity, and both movements will ensure the reliability of its 162 square feet.
According to the press release, WiredTree has replaced their edge routers MLXe Brocade routers that are fully compatible with IPv6, expandable to 100 GB. WiredTree said routers are capable of 15.36 Tbps and 4.8 million packets per second of routing. WiredTree says its central switching equipment has been updated to Brocade FastIron SX800 series for full performance at line rate 10 GbE ports and 464Gbps of switching capacity data.
"Our review of the network infrastructure in our Chicago data center is an investment of nearly half a million dollars," said Zac Cogswell, WiredTree president in a statement. "Our managed dedicated servers and managed hosting services has grown rapidly to become very popular and is focused on ensuring that as WiredTree continues to grow, our network can handle the growth. This new range of network upgrades will help us meet to our existing customers and pave the way for further growth. " WiredTree has 4 tier one providers, Savvis, Level3, NTT and Global Crossing that bring the entire Internet connectivity of the data center to 80Gbps.
