New Cloud Enabled Storage Alternative Launched by Panzura

Will cloud-based storage ever be quicker and simpler than earlier approaches like NAS and SANs? A startup named Panzura claims this will occur already, through a leading edge technology the company is dubbing Application Network Storage (ANS).

The initial product to use Panzura's ANS is the Application Cloud Controller (ACC), a hardware device combination functionality that includes deep packet inspection, for researching the data use patterns of computer applications, and storage acceleration.

HDS to Announce New Cloud Storage Services

The company refers back to the non-public cloud service as Hitachi Cloud Service for Non-public File Tiering, which can enable users to move inactive files off dear NAS systems onto HDS platforms. While not providing express pricing data (the service will not go GA for one or two months), HDS middle management emphasize the pre-paid pricing technique in which users pay just for the capacity they use.

With the Personal File Tiering service, the storage systems reside in the customer's facilities but are the property of HDS, thus decreasing the leading costs occasionally associated with moving to a cloud design. Additionally, HDS slightly manages the storage from its System Operations Center.

Mezeo Software Launches the Mezeo Cloud Storage Platform 3.0

The general availability of the Mezeo Cloud Storage Platform 3.0, which contains the Mezeo Interoperability API, has been declared by Mezeo Software, the premier supplier of a deployable cloud storage platform for service suppliers and companies.

Seamless interoperability of applications developed for Amazon S3, Google (Stories - Alert) and Eucalyptus based storage clouds is enabled by the Mezeo Cloud Storage Platform 3.0 and the Mezeo Interoperability API.
