Google has chosen Chile for setting up its first data center, which indicates that Internet economy is booming in Latin America. Google announced this news in first week of September 2012 commenting that it will setup its data centers in the Chile's region of Quilicura in Latin America. It is expected that its construction will be completed by the end of 2013.

ClearSlide, a sales communications platform based at San Francisco, has raised $28 million in its second funding round for opening a New York City office, increasing market efforts and developing new products. Bessemer Venture was the leader of second round funding which was joined by existing investors like Felicis Ventures and Greylock Partners. Being a cloud-based presentation company, it offers apps based on cloud to its customers to give presentations without hassle and friction connected by services like GoToMeeting and WebEX, types of web conferences.

The Storage Networking Industry Association (SNIA) has revealed uniform storage product power competence ratings at its SNIA Europe event. The Esmeralda Power competence measurement specifications were developed under the Green Storage Initiative (GSI) for more than 25 SNIA member companies to give a seller-neutral power competence measure.
