GoGrid, a cloud infrastructure and hybrid hosting provider, made an announcement about the launch of its open source Software Partner Programme. According to the company, adoption of GoGrid as a core and basic technology platform for enabling leading open source answers to the cloud has speeded up recently.
By packing on-demand versions of software and leveraging the GoGrid Exchange, a novel cloud solutions market place, open source partners and firms alike are realizing increased deployments and use of popular open-source software offerings. It explains that by leveraging the GoGrid Exchange programme, partners may be able to share or sell a customised server image. Users can search by solution type (for example, Net security, backup, monitoring, web programmes, compliance, and application scaling) and instantly provision - with the press of a mouse dumping a lengthy installation process.
It touches on that through its platform, open source firms can deliver their offerings as Software-as-Service (SaaS) or Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) and realize unique benefits, including:
* Detailed user info
* High visibility by a leading cloud provider
* Co-marketing support
* Access to the firm's massive and growing client base
* Low risk - no sign-up costs or long term commitment
* Access to buyer info and usage metrics by platform even for open source distributions
