2010 ECM Connection ACE Award goes to Cintas Corporation

Cintas Corporation, an enterprise content management services provider, won the 2010 ACE Award in the category of Record Management and Compliance. The ACE award is an honor for providers of ECM that are considered to truly promote the technology of enterprise content management. The companies that receive this award have an exemplary capability to help enterprise customers in achieving the best possible results for the implementation of their ECM solutions.

Findings of Symantec's 2010 Information Management Health Check Survey

Symantec Corporation, a leading security provider, had conducted 2010 Information Management Health Check Survey and the findings of this survey were released recently. The findings highlight the fact that most of the enterprises are failing to follow their own advice in the case of information management. As much as 87 percent of the respondents surveyed opined that a formal plan for information retention is indeed very valuable for any company but only 46 percent of the enterprises have taken measures to integrate such a plan.

ECM vendors have shifted their focus on integration

Organizations now have a large variety of options to choose from in order to integrate Enterprise Content Management technology platforms with various environments and repositories to supply enterprise-wide benefits, but cost and complexity remain major issues, according to new research done by Real Story Group which evaluates ECM products.

Most of the large enterprises now employ ECM systems for business-critical documents, but the variety of documents stored in different silos remains a challenge. Major ECM providers like EMC, Autonomy, Documentum, IBM, and Open Text, have historically taken exclusive routes, hoping that companies will consolidate all of their content in one system, inside a single repository.
