Sabre has linked up with TRX to supply Sabre Red subscribers what it claims is the 1st business intelligence tool of its kind in the market. Martin Cowley, senior VP for Sabre Travel Network (EMEA), said Travolution that TRX's TravelTrax product would translate info from Sabre's warehouse and present the information in a graphical and user-friendly way for agency and company patrons.
Sabre's info warehouse includes real-time prices along with historic price trends going back 3 years. Agencies ' consumers can use the info to improve and benchmark not only their own productiveness but also the service they offer to clients, while corporate can use the info for compliance, carbon and expense management, among other stuff.
Cowley recounted: we have got an enormous quantity of information which we are sharing so that that agencies and companies can compare their own performance against industry benchmarks and use the information to identify their individual strengths and weaknesses. The tool can be evolved by users to their own wants so the benchmarking has relevancy to their local marketplace. Cowley added the link-up with TRX typified the Sabre Red approach.
It is open-source, making it less complicated for Sabre to include third-party products into Red. Sabre Red launched only a month or so back and now has around one thousand users in fifty nations. Around a 100 agencies in the UK have enrolled. Cowley asserted that Red was viewed internally as a major upgrade to the MySabre tool. He added the upgrade include new technologies which helped the system re its trustworthiness.
We are finding that in areas with low bandwidth like many parts of the Middle East the rate and stability of Red is winning us business, he claimed. Vis the business travel market, Cowley said that Sabre's experience reflected up to date soundings from the airline sector. There's an improvement, nevertheless it appears as if business travelers are travelling in economy. The continuing challenge for airlines is whether premium class travel will return.
