The Oracle Public Cloud is publicly declared at OpenWorld, giving users the chance to run middleware, Oracle Fusion Apps, Java and database in an Oracle operated and managed cloud infrastructure. Oracle is pointing the new services as a consumption option that allows portability as well as openness. The Oracle Fusion cloud applications include CRM, human resources and collaboration of new businesses and network service like Salesforce Chatter.

Nlyte overhauls suite of data centre management

Nlyte Software has unveiled the latest version of their information centre performance management platform. Version 6.0 introduces nlyte Analytic, which includes a new dashboard and improves the reporting and predicting capabilities from the suite, the business said. The dashboard will present a one stop look for all information concerning power, cooling and capacity. The firm claims this may decrease operating costs and extend data centre life. The real-time visibility aspect will aid companies track how their data centre is performing, nlyte said.

Survey reveals that SaaS is gaining popularity among SMBs

According to a survey conducted by AMI, an IT research company, 750,000 small business enterprises are using the Software-as-a-Service model for integrating various enterprise applications in their business processes. Also, 20,000 medium enterprises are using SaaS in their business. These numbers indicate that SaaS solutions are gaining popularity among small and medium enterprises.
