IPv6 ready phase-2 certification completed by Vyatta's open network OS

A global leader in network virtualizations and networking, Vyatta, made an announcement the IPv6 Ready Logo Phase 2 certification for its subscription edition software has been completed. With the completion of IPv6 forum conformance and the interoperability testing program, the implementation of IPv6 core routing protocols has been verified by the company.

The demand is continuously growing for IPv6 support. Vyatta is offering the only security and routing alternative based on software with IPv6 interoperability and functionality that is proven. Timothy Winters, senior IP manager at the IPv6 Interoperability Lab at the University of New Hampshire, said that, "Migration to IPv6 is becoming a reality, with more IPv6-enabled products coming to market. By completing IPv6 Ready Logo Phase 2 test requirements, Vyatta shows its commitment to enhancing IPv6 network security, reliability and performance and helping its customers manage a smooth transition."

The IPv6 Ready Logo Phase-1 and Phase-2 certifications which require a series of tests for the verification of optimum compliance is done is the IPv6 forum. The mandatory core protocols of IPv6 are included in the product is tested by Phase-1. The Phase-1 also tests that these protocols can interoperate with the implementation of IPv6. Phase-2 testing banks on Phase-1 in order to indicate that the strong requirements which were stated by the IPv6 Logo Committee (v6LC), are successfully satisfied.

VP of marketing at Vyatta, Tom McCafferty said that, "Vyatta is pleased to have the industry's first software-based and virtual network OS to be certified IPv6 Phase 2 Ready." He also added that, "More and more of our customers are looking to migrate from IPv4 to IPv6. As Vyatta continues to penetrate government, education and large enterprise customers in the US and worldwide, they can confidently adopt Vyatta as a future-proof routing and security solution for their physical, virtual and cloud computing environments."

The open networking solutions provided by Vyatta work on standard x86 hardware and deliver an array of security and routing features. The enterprise clients of Vyatta are able to protect, connect, optimize and virtualize their networks and improve performance, management and flexibility as compared to other networking solutions.
