Fujitsu made an announcement about the availability of three new blade servers for its Primergy BX900 Dynamic Cube x86 blade system. The new servers are a combination of efficient hardware, solutions and services of Fujitsu’s infrastructure with the processor technology from Intel Xeon.
The reason behind the introduction was to maximize the choices that customers have and make sure that there is flexibility for the ever changing IT requirements. These blade modules introduced lately provide the customers with a versatile system at lower costs. Also, the system can span the usage of blade servers from web servers demanding low performance to other applications that require a higher level of performance.
The independent benchmarks have been excellent for the Dynamic Cube Blade Servers of the next generation. The quad-socket PRIMERGY BX960 S1 has achieved brilliant outcomes in the VMmark benchmark from VMware. It received the first position in the categories 24 core and 16 core each with four-socket servers. A single system board has been manufactured which has all the required components for all the CPUs. This provides the shortest distance between memory modules, processors and i/o hubs. This feature has driven the performance and connectivity speed of Fujitsu’s quad-socket blade servers.
The product manager for Fujitsu Technology Solutions, Chandan Mehta said that, "To ensure flexibility and investment protection for our customers, we continually expand our offering of server blades for the PRIMERGY BX900. Now with the availability of dual- and quad-socket blades, in combination with high capacities of configurable memory and I/O enhancements by providing 10 Gbit Ethernet on board, the Dynamic Cube offers end-to-end reliable, balanced performance, enabling optimal virtual machine deployment without bottlenecks."
