Typical Wi-Fi hotspot sites are fixed and are restricted to cafes, airports, hotels, hospices, restaurants, departmental stores, parks and other public areas. But in the most recent times, a new class of Wi-Fi hotspots, usually known as mobile hotspots, is getting famous. Mobile Wi-Fi (Mi-Fi) hotspots are private devices which simply can be carried and set up at any convenient place, to provide net access to a controlled number of Wi-Fi users and devices.
Commercialization of transportable Wi-Fi devices is the key driving factor behind skyrocketing mobile Wi-Fi hotspot options. Some of these are stand alone devices, while others can be set up in software on a PDA, laptop PC/Netbooks or a smartphone.
