100 Gigabit Ethernet Service from Alcatel-Lucent is now tested and verified

Alcatel-Lucent and Ixia recently made an announcement that Isocore, a leader in providing cutting-edge and latest networking technology validation services, tested and verified the Alcatel-Lucent 7750 Service Router's (SR) 100 Gigabit Ethernet (100 GE) performance, with the help of K2 100 GE test solution from Ixia.

Extension of AT&T’s contract with the US Postal Service for providing managed VPN services

The government marketing unit of AT&T is expected to make an announcement about receiving a $120 million contract extension for 4 years that will permit the company to continue providing its managed VPN services to the US Postal Service. AT&T had been awarded the original contract called Postal Advanced Telecommunications Network in the year 2003. PATN is an extensive network, which covers around 5,500 US Postal Service facilities across the country with VPN equipment and services.

Omantel provides MPLS solution to Suhail Bahwan Group

Suhail Bahwan Group has entered in to an agreement with Omantel for implementing state-of-the-art MPLS (Multi Protocol Label Switching) solution in order to link all branches of Suhail Bahwan Group in different parts of the Sultanate. The agreement was signed between Amal Suhail Bahwan from Suhail Bahwan Group and Adil Ismail al Raisi, VP, Corporate Customers at Omantel.

After the agreement was signed, Amal Suhail Bahwan said, "We at Suhail Bahwan GroupSuhail Bahwan Group believe that information technology and communication has become an integral part of every business. As one of the Sultanate's main business houses, have operations for the Holding company and its subsidiaries in all parts of the Sultanate. We decided to implement IP-MPLS service because of the reliability, quality and the speed it provides which in turn will assure our customers a better and enhanced service.”

Remote Access product, SRA 1200, launched by SonicWall

SonicWall, Inc. made an announcement of the SRA 1200, as part of its Secure Remote Access (SRA) range of products, fitting between the SRA 200 and SRA 4200 models.
