Hybrid host connectivity added to ESVA by Infortrend

Infortrend, company providing network storage, has introduced hybrid host connectivity in its Enterprise Scalable Virtualized Architecture (ESVA) storage arrays, which enables clients to configure economical remote replication of data. This feature is included in ESVA F70 model from Infortrend, and is available in the market. It comes along with eight 8 Gbit/s fibre channel ports and four 1 Gbit/s iSCSI Ethernet ports.

WorkLight made an announcement about the availability of its native iOS support for secure authentication and back-end enterprise connectivity, which allows IT professionals and developers to integrate new iPad, iPhone and iPod apps easily with the enterprise systems. This recent addition to the WorkLight Mobile Platform also offers the capability to connect existing native applications with enterprise infrastructure.

WildBlue Communications gets grants implementing economical broadband services

WildBlue Communications LLC, a subsidiary of ViaSat Inc, was recently awarded an estimated $19.5 million as grant funds by the Department of Agriculture Rural Utilities Service (RUS) under the American Reinvestment and Recovery Act of 2009 (ARRA) for connecting the residents that are not served yet to gain access to economical and effective broadband services. The funding has been granted by the government body as a response to Western Regional Proposal sent by WildBlue to RUS. The proposal maintained a focus on offering services to some regions in twenty western as well as mid-western states that are scarcely populated and don’s have access to broadband services which are being offered by terrestrial carriers. This region also includes many areas which are having an economical disadvantage.
