Google will miss the future of Enterprise 2.0 by Axing Wave

The biggest qualification that a corporation needs to be a big player in Enterprise 2.0 is a collaboration and communications platform. Considering this, it is very surprising to see that Google has axed Wave, its only collaboration and communications platform in the cloud. Even though Google is hinting that the same technology will be used in some other product that they will soon be releasing, major players in the industry like Microsoft, IBM, SAP and Cisco will take heavy advantage of its temporary absence.

Will the Workplace get Transformed because of Enterprise 2.0?

Famous Enterprise 2.0 expert, Andrew McAfee recently raised a critical topic about how the Generation Y will transform the workplace in his column in The Harvard Business Review. A huge discussion started in the comments section immediately and McAfee had to go through them to answer them all.

The opinions that were presented were quite diverse in nature, with some people vouching for Gen Y and others arguing against it. There were even some who gave neutral opinions on the subject.

Enterprise 2.0: A Balance between Compliance Concerns and Collaboration Benefits

Financial enterprises are very closely regulated, perhaps more than any other kind of enterprise. This is the reason why financial companies have been a bit slow to adopt Enterprise 2.0 tools for collaboration. For example, the Vanguard Group in the United States is an investment management company that handles more than $ 1.3 trillion in assets and has more than 12500 employees working for it. It offers various kinds of financial products and services to individuals and enterprises all over the world. The regulations on enterprises like Vanguard are really tough. The regulations that these companies need to comply with are set by many different entities like the exchange Commission and the Securities, foreign regulators and auditing firms. As Vanguard handles a huge amount of money, security is one of the biggest priorities for it. But something that is equally important for Vanguard is the security of its client’s data.

Enterprise 2.0: The Newest Trend In the Market

The unexpected positioning as global flagship model for social networking is surely a milestone in the short history of the Internet. Combine this with the extraordinary jump in revenue and you are bound to be noticed by all the big businesses all over the world.

Indeed Facebook makes earlier means of electronic interaction and communication look increasingly ancient. Social networking is being noticed by all the big businesses in the world and is already evolving in the context of business into what is now called Enterprise 2.0. Enterprise 2.0 comprises of social software that encourages usage before providing any sort of structure. It permits any user to search for other users or for desired kind of content.
